On December 16, 1773, Samuel Adams gave a signal and 116 colonists boarded three ships in Boston Harbor and threw 342 chests of British tea into the water.

This was not a spontaneous act of vandalism. It was the result of years of organizing, months of planning, and a careful calculation that the symbolic cost of compliance had finally exceeded the personal risk of defiance.

After that night, the colonists didn't go back to tea. They drank coffee. It was a political statement that became a daily ritual.

1773 Reserve is built in that spirit. Single-origin Guatemalan beans, specialty-grade, aged 30 days in whiskey barrels. The result is a layered, extraordinary cup: oak and vanilla upfront, a subtle whiskey sweetness in the middle, and then the bright, clean Guatemalan finish cutting through at the end like a reminder of what's underneath all that history.

The Founders faced impossible odds and changed the course of human history. The least we can do is roast a coffee worthy of the occasion.

Tasting Notes: Oak, vanilla, subtle whiskey sweetness, bright clean finish.

Body: Full, layered, complex.

We recommend whole been for this coffee to preserve the unique flavor profile of our barrel aged beans.
